Install the ReleaseMind GitHub App

Install the GitHub App, choose repo scope, and confirm access.

Updated: Feb 1, 2026

Before you install

You need GitHub org or repo admin access to install the ReleaseMind GitHub App.

Decide whether you want to start with all repositories or a curated list.

If your org uses SSO, plan to approve the app after installation.

Install steps

From the ReleaseMind dashboard, select Manage GitHub to start the installation flow.

Choose the org or user account that owns the repositories you ship from.

Select All repositories for broad access, or pick specific repositories to start.

  • Confirm the install completes and returns you to ReleaseMind
  • Grant access to the repositories that contain your release tags
  • Keep a note of any SSO prompts for your org admin

Choose the right scope

Install on the owner that holds release tags and PR history; installs on a fork will miss context.

If you ship from multiple orgs, install once per owner so drafts can see every repo.

You can change repository scope later without reinstalling.

After installation

ReleaseMind syncs installation metadata and builds your repo list in Repos.

Open Release Studio and confirm the repo picker is populated.

If nothing appears within a few minutes, click Resync in Repos.

Review and introspect

A clean installation now saves hours later when you scale releases.

  • Which orgs truly own the releases you want to automate?
  • Did you choose a repo scope that balances coverage and least privilege?
  • Who on the team should manage future access changes?
